My in-laws were in town so we took them to see Fort Boonesborough.  Originally built in 1775 It would have been Kentucky's second settlement.  This replicated fort has cabins that depict daily life and cabins that demonstrate period crafts.  There is weaving, spinning, candle dipping, soap making, pottery making, a blacksmith, a gunsmith and a whitesmith.  The description of the Boonesborough tinsmith or whitesmith will be contained in its own post.

It is refreshing to see some live animals within the fort walls. (but the sheep are hiding in the shelter in this picture).
