We just returned from Convergence 2011. This is the annual meeting where all the traditional tinsmiths converge to discuss and share ideas and information on 18th and 19th century tin and copper working. It was held at Landis Valley Museum in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We were able to view their collection of tin and copper artifacts. We also made a trip to Winterthur in Delaware for a behind the scenes look at their collection and a "hands on" discussion of some artifacts.

Here is the group in front of the tinsmith shop that was used by Phil Kelly. He was featured in the book Tinware Yesterday and Today by Elmer Smith. This is now the pottery and the tinsmith has a bigger building (somewhat)
