Did America's most famous silversmith know the first tinsmith of record in America?

Paul Revere made this copper plate image.  This political cartoon depicts 17 rescinders being sent to Hell.

It also shows the weathervane of the Province House, the governors residence in Boston.  Shem Drowne made that weathervane and three others that still mark the Boston Skyline.  He made them of hammered copper and covered them with gold to preserve them.
