The first rifle order from the U.S. Office of Indian Trade to Henry Deringer on June 27, 1809 specified that the rifles were to be "compleat with chargers, molds & wiper"...These descriptions [of sample rifles] consistently included "tin chargers" in the accessories to be furnished with each rifle.
