Quick Overview

5 gallon kettle made of sheet iron

Product Description

One of two kettles found at Fort Meigs which was used during the War of 1812. Those kettles were made of sheet iron as tinned sheet were unavailable due to embargoes on tin from England. Made of sheet iron and holds about 5 gallons. Seams are not soldered. For more information, see here. Please note, this kettle is not guaranteed not to leak. As with the originals, boiling oatmeal in the kettle at first should help seal any small leaks.
